Tilted Birthday

It is time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Check out the latest challenge: #44 – sketch.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #44

And here is my take:

by Karen at carefree creations - Celebrate

So you would think, seeing as I’m the “author” of this sketch that I would have it easy…but no. I had such a hard time – this is my third effort! I think my mojo needs sleep.

I recently purchased these cool word dies from My Favorite Things. I thought it would be fun to include one in this tilted card.

I really love using white over color backgrounds because it pops so well.

I felt the top was too empty so I added some tone-on-tone stamping. That wasn’t enough so I broke out the sequins. Usually I have a really hard time placing sequins, but honestly, these got glued down where they landed when I brushed them out of the baggie! Love serendipity 🙂

  1. Well, it may have taken 3 goes but I think you nailed it this time. Love the white letters against the colours and the ‘grunge’ at the top. The random bling is just right, balancing the card without losing its CAS design. LOVE it!
