Make a Wish

It is time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Check out the latest challenge:

And here is my take:

Make a Wish | by karen @ carefree creations

I am hosting this week over at CCS. I made this card based on a previous card.

I decided to interpret the sketch a bit differently this time. The right-hand layer is implied rather than actual.

Originally I made this card with a color card base and the candles on a yellow panel and all of it bordered by white scallops. It just felt to busy for a clean and simple card, so I pulled it apart (salvaging the sentiment block) and tried for this much cleaner final version. {Honestly though, if I hadn’t adhered it all on the card upside down (this happens more frequently than I’d like to admit), I might have just said “done is done” as I often do…but since I had to pull it apart anyway…}

I hope you join us at CAS Colours & Sketches!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. LOVE this sketch, so fun and very versatile – thank you! Love how you have used it too, fun die cutting technique and love the crossed candles. Hugs Bev x

  2. Love your take on the sketch, Karen and the way you pulled the pink in behind your die cut sentiment! Hugs, Cathy

  3. I like the shadowy effect of the die cut sentiment being raised above the pink layer. Very cool!
    P.S. Tweet, tweet, tweet! šŸ˜‰ LOL

  4. Great sketch and love what you have done with it. Using the negative for the sentiment, with the pop of pink behind is a great way to tie the whole thing together with the candles. x

  5. Beautiful CAS card – I love the candles and the die cut sentiment! This was a very fun design/sketch to work with.
