These two cards were created for InkUp newsletters. They both happen to use stitching and are Christmas themed, so I thought I’d post them together.

Mom had asked me to create a shaker card using the new Mica Flakes and Dimensional Foam Frames from the Holiday Mini. This card is what I came up with.

To make the ornament shaker, I stamped and punched two ornaments. From one ornament I also punched a circle (I punched a circle from scrap, placed it on my ornament, traced it, then aligned the traced line with the punch). I glued an acetate ornament to the back of the front ornament, followed by a Foam Frame, added a bit of mica, then peeled the liner from the Foam Frame and attached the back ornament.

The hardest part about this card was sewing around the Top Note!! And in case you don’t know, to do the matted Top Note, I just die cut two – one in green and one in white; the “front” one (in this case the green one) was then hand-cut around the embossed dashed lines.

This next card was quite fun. I started by cutting a Vanilla panel the size I wanted the “quilt”. I marked a dot on the Vanilla panel where the sentiment would be. Then I just took one piece of patterned paper and placed the corner on the dot and adhered it, then I trimmed the paper along the Vanilla edge. I repeated that for each of the other three patterns.

I added machine stitching to the pattern panel (zig-zag where the patterns meet and straight around the edge). I wrapped the panel with the ribbon and adhered it to the card base. Finally I stamped and punched my sentiment and adhered it with dimensionals.

Thanks for taking a peek!

I created quite a few Christmas cards for my mom’s StampinUp business. These two I’m posting today are both done with Bells & Boughs (so happy this set made it to the big catalog!).

This first card, while it may seem similar to other cards I’ve posted, this one is actually the first one I created – and it is also my favorite Christmas card I’ve created this year!

The greenery on this card was created with the pines from Lovely as a Tree. The bells are watercolored, cut out, and popped-up.

This second card needed to be a quick and easy card for stamp camp.

I started by stamping the Sahara panel with the holly image. I sponged around the edge of the panel to help pop it from the card base. The rest of the card should be fairly obvious – a little embossing, some ribbon, and a die cut.

Thanks for taking a peek!

My mom, a StampinUp demonstrator, hosted a 12 Weeks of Christmas newsletter again this year. And, as in the past, I helped her with the issues.

These three projects were ones I created for the newsletter.

First up is a pop-top can. This was the first one of these I made. It was surprisingly easy – I just followed the directions at SplitCoast.

This next project is a tree decoration – Double Ball Ornament. Again, I followed directions at Splitcoast.

The only tip I have is to be careful you don’t over bend your pieces, they really need to stay flexible.

And, if you can find the right hat pin, it will make all the difference! Mine did not have a ribbon eye so I had to fake that bit and it didn’t really last.

All the projects here use Holly Berry Bouquet paper from the StampinUp Holiday mini.

And finally, my last project. This was so cool. This little box is actually created using the StampinUp Petal Cone die! Dawn Olchefske created a great video showing just how to make the box.

All supplies are StampinUp, but if you have any specific questions – don’t hesitate to ask!

Thanks for stopping by!

This card is for mom’s November camp. I’m really happy with how this card turned out!

I inked the wheel with Pool Party, then went back over the sentiment I wanted using the Espresso marker. Now, my wheel in unmounted, so I ended up having to stamp this in stages, but for camp, they’ll just roll it out making sure the sentiment is about 1″ up from the bottom.

Then I cleaned the wheel and, using the Mustard marker, inked up the leaf I wanted. Stamped on scrap and cut it out.

Just finish it up with a strip of pattern paper and some twine.

Easy peasy

Back in September I put together a few cards for my mom’s newsletter on stitching. On this card I decided to use the StampinUp fabric as well as stitching.

I die cut about four butterflies and machine stitched them to the Crumb Cake layer. My little machine doesn’t like tight curves, so I did part of it manually moving the needle up and down. Not fun!

To do the ruffled border, I ran a long straight stitch down the center of the fabric. Then I pulled one of the threads and gathered the fabric as I went.

Thanks for taking a peek!
