Sassy Celebration

I used my random program to chose this stamp set. When I was playing around trying to decide what to do with it, I decided the current CASE Study challenge (83) would work well.

I started by picking pattern paper I wanted to use. I decided to use the pale pink for the focal panel as a change from how I normally do stuff! I used Copics to color the image and went back with a little glitter pen on the flower head.

Since the sentiment on the challenge piece was all flow-y and scripty I chose to use the Curvy Verses set.

The card felt pretty bland, so I added the scallop strip and yellow bling.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Butterfly Spritz

I was very inspired by a recent ColourQ challenge (cqc129). I didn’t use quite the same colors, but I would never have come up with this on my own!

The main panel is a shimmer paper with ink/water spritzed on it. The Autumn Rose (pink) is done with a mini spritzer, but the Plum Pudding is done with a toothbrush because I wanted larger dots.

Sunshine and Blue Birds

It is the 25th of the month and that means PTI Blog Hop! This month is an inspiration challenge. The photo is full of fun patterns in sunshine yellow with touches of aqua.

I really wanted the card to be upbeat and happy since that was how I felt looking at the inspiration.

I kept most of the card yellow (yay for Harvest Gold ink!) in lots of patterns. The ribbon had to be aqua (is there anything prettier than aqua satin ribbon?).

I futzed with the bird positions – I didn’t want them to be at the same height, so I tilted one a bit. I just felt it gave the card a bit of interest for them not to be “mirrored”.

Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbow Branches

I needed to update my blog theme (the one I was using was very old and out-dated…causing issues). I hope this works well for everyone. If any one has issues, I would like to know!

I created this card for a friend who likes rainbows. I used a retired StampinUp set, but the general layout could be used with any image.

Shabby Chic Mother’s Day

I created this card for mom’s next stamp camp. She wanted me to make a Mother’s Day card using Aviary.

Each (catalog) year she asks her customers what they’d like to see in the coming months. One thing on the current list is more shabby chic. This isn’t a style that either of us like doing. It has been a while since our last shabby card so I thought I’d give it a go for this card.

I used LOTS of products on this card, but it still came together pretty quickly.

I stamped the bird cage base onto the Vanilla panel first, then I embossed it (sometimes I don’t think about it in the right order, lol). Then I just layered and layered until I felt it was enough. I know I could have taken this to another level, but since this is for stamp camp, I needed it to be doable within the time constraints.

Handy Man Thank You

When I saw this challenge from Play Date Cafe (pdcc123) I wasn’t too sure. But once I pulled the colors out, I fell in love.

The inspiration photo for the color challenge had me thinking ric-rac or chevrons.

I needed to make a masculine card for one of mom’s upcoming stamp camps. I was tasked to make the card using Totally Tool.

St Patrick’s Day

I created this card for mom’s stamp camp a couple weeks ago. I ended up casing the design of my Christmas card (second card) because her customers loved the design and wanted a chance to make the ruffle.

To make the ruffle, punch a couple strips of cardstock using the Scallop Border punch. Run the cardstock through a crimper a lot to break up the inner fibers. Apply adhesive to the back of the circle, around the edges. Adhere the first edge of the scalloped piece and just fold and bend to fit it around the circle.

The colors are not the best in this photo. That green is Lucky Limeade!

Rainbow Critters

I created this card for one of mom’s stamp camp. She requested a kid birthday card. I chose to use Fox & Friends (such a cute little set!). I couldn’t pick which little critter to use, so I decided to use them all. I was trying to decide what color to make each animal when I realized I could make a rainbow. That always makes me happy :)
