This week’s Weekend Sketch (WSC74) was designed by Charmaine. It is a perfect sketch to highlight those big sentiments (which I don’t have, lol) and pattern paper. I have a ton of pattern paper, but I had a color scheme in mind that I couldn’t let go of The colors come from a dress I bought my daughter recently. I’m sure I’ll do another card for it as there are plenty of things about the dress from to be inspired.

I used all the colors to make the floral panel. Knowing that I was going to put some Summer Sunrise accent in the top left, I made sure I used all the pink inks in that corner. The sentiment panel was fun to put together. I ended up using a few different sets to get all the pieces on there – I like how it turned out!

I stamped the drink images on a panel the other day, but the scale was off for what I wanted. Then when I checked out the Limited Supplies challenge over at SCS (LSC209), I knew I would use the panel. The challenge was to create your own pattern paper. Coloring this was a pain, but I love how it turned out – so while I wouldn’t do it all the time, I’m glad I did it. I kept the rest of the card really simple so the pattern paper would stand out.

I made this card way back in November for my sister-in-law’s birthday. She always strikes me as a fun and festive chick, so I wanted a bright card – and I went with the Cheers set from StampinUp. I created patterned paper once before and I really liked it, so I wanted to do that again. I choose a Mojo Sketch to get me started.

I stamped the images with Noir Palette ink and colored with my SU markers. To make the drink more focal, I added crystal effects to the glass and a tiny bit of glitter around the lip of the glass.

I even decorated the inside and the envelope. I’m really starting to enjoy doing that…it is like another little canvas. For the inside, I made the bottom part with masking and a stripey stamp from SU – then I just used a marker to draw the blue dividing line.
