Inky Impressions is putting together their first Design Team (details here). There are already so many awesome applicants! I love to color, so I am going to try too! Below are my cards for consideration.

First up is a new card, so I’ll give some details. The fairy set is one I got before I moved – from Inkadinkadoo. My girls love fairies and I couldn’t pass this one up – too cute! I watercolored with ink – my normal medium.

Since this is a fairy, I had to add some glitz! I used Twinkling H2Os on the wings for shimmer, and a little glitter here and there for sparkle. The pearl in her hair complements the pearl brad I used in the ribbon. Here is a close-up of the glitz – you can also click both images for larger views. The layout for the card is for Karen Giron’s sweet Sunday sketch (SSSC09). I love how bright and cheery this turned out!

My other card is one I posted a couple weeks ago (here). I chose this card because it is different in style and color from the above card.

I have other examples of coloring posted here on my blog, and in my gallery at Splitcoast.

Thank you for your consideration!

Life Sparkles

This is a combo challenge card. Julee posts awesome sketches every Monday – she calls them Mojo Monday…I love that name! This card uses her Mojo 49 Sketch. The card also fulfills the VSN challenge “Alice in Wonderland” – to use pearl-ex, twinkling H2Os, lumiere or scallops.

I was inspired by Pine’s work with Twinkling H2Os on Kraft paper. I only have a couple Verve stamps, so I chose to use the star stamps. I simply painted the H2Os onto the stamp and stamped onto black cardstock. I also broke out some glittery paper that I purchased months ago from Cut Cardstock. The white and blue paper are both shimmery. Though, the photo doesn’t show it, there is a lot of shimmer in this card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Seeing Stars (Verve Visual)
Paper: Black (SU); Shimmery White, Shimmery Blue (Cut Cardstock)
Ink: Noir (Palette); Twinkling H2Os
Other: Swiss Dot (CB)
