Suppah Stah

This card was created for the Fall to Layout at the CAS blog (ftl82). I loved the sketch and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do. Well, I knew I wanted a flourish with stars, but it took a couple days to really figure out how to do it. Sad but true.

I chose upbeat colors because I wanted the card to say super star and I didn’t think that would go with pastels. I do like orange and blue together – the combo could be for a guy or a gal…of course I added too many embellishments for it to be masculine (at least what I consider masculine).

Did y’all notice that the star has the same dot pattern that the new Dot Spot set uses? Maybe you did…I know I’m slow to make connections. Makes me wonder how long ago they designed Dot Spot – Star Prints is almost a year old! I gotta figure out how to work the two sets into one card!

For anyone who cares, I’m wondering how you feel about the size of the images on my blog? If you click them you get a slightly larger version, but I know many folks don’t like to click. Would you rather see bigger images directly in the post?

  1. This is an unusual and stunning card and you’re so right about the colours. I’d love to see a bigger image – you get to see more of the detail without clicking!

  2. i love this card but you know that cause you used orange 🙂

as for your image size, i think it’s good. it’s a little bigger than most people use and it’s perfect when you click. i think if you go too large it takes up too much pace on your blog and maybe people won’t read your blah-blah.
