In the Way-Back Machine

I have too many stamps! Yes, I said it. I really need to do some purging. I think I haven’t yet because I unmount my stamps (completely – down to bare rubber) and I don’t know if that will keep people from wanting them – and I don’t want to deal with something like ebay. Anyway, I’m trying to use some of my older sets to help me decide what should go.

This card is made with two old Stampin Up sets – Simply Sweet (vases) and Alphabet Soup. I think I got Alphabet Soup free (because I can’t believe I spent money on it, it really isn’t my style). I got Simply Sweet when it retired. I really love border-like stamps but always have a hard time using them.

The layout is using the SCS Dirty Dozen July sketch. I thought it would be a perfect way to use the row of vases. Now if I could have colored the water better (i.e., chosen a better color) I would be much happier. Oh well.

Thank You
All supplies StampinUp unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Simply Sweet, Alphabet Soup;
Colors: Old Olive, Taken with Teal, Pretty in Pink;
Other: Petals & Paisley DSP, Eyelet Lace punch, Pink & Olive ribbons;

  1. What a good idea, Karen! I could use a way-back machine myself! This is a cute card (you did a great job with the eyelet punch–it looks like fabric folded up like that!) made with cute stamps! I wish you luck deciding what to do with your excess–I think a lot of us are in that boat. 🙂

  2. I like what you did with the ribbon and the little ruffley scallop.
    I sell everything on SCS – no issues…people will buy anything…and they PayPal you the money…and if you don’t get it sold, you aren’t out any money either 😉

  3. Very cute! You did great using those older sets. I so need to do that. I’m having a hard time finding people who want my old sets so i think I’d better just do what you’ve done and get them out and just use them.

  4. I love the paper ruffle!

    Nice job incorporating the older designer paper into the card featuring older stamps, too! (I still have some of that package also…)

  5. Cute card! We used to have a nice stamp store here that had garage sales on occasion where you could sell unwanted stamps. I used to make quite a bit of money which I then used to buy more stamps, of course! I’m in the same boat. I have some I would love to sell, but the effort it would take is too much to deal with!
