Pink Bubbly Birthday

I created this card for the Clean & Simple Cards challenge at SCS (cas151). The theme for this challenge was “beverages”.

For some reason the champagne glasses image came to my mind first, but I wanted a birthday card. I decided that if I kept the layout fun and the colors bright it would work. And besides we can “cheers” for a birthday!

I’m not sure my final card is quite simple enough, but I’m happy with it all the same!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Happy Day Birdie

I created this card for two challenges. First, the colors are from the Play Date Cafe – a challenge blog I’ve been stalking for awhile but this is my first entrance (pdcc113). The layout is a Fall-to-Layout from Clean & Simple Stamping (ftl172).

I really loved the soothing colors and felt that the birdie could only be relaxed if free from the cage. 🙂

The scallop border is done by overlapping a couple square die cuts.

Black & White Ties

I created this card for the Runway Inspiration Challenge (ric3).

This one was a tough one for me – all black & white. I wasn’t sure what to do at first, so I searched through my stamp index. When I saw the ties I knew that would be perfect!

I stamped the ties and cut them out so they would be popped-up (to give dimension – since I didn’t have any color for pop). Also, I added the line next to the sentiment to help balance out the card.

As a final touch I added little gold bead gems as tie pins.

Thanks for stopping by!

Glad Tidings

I was pretty stumped about the latest sketch challenge (wmsc78). I didn’t want to do a Christmas card (so done with those), but I don’t have a star in my WMS stash. But finally (just 12 hours before the deadline) I finally figured out what to do!

Teeny Trees to the rescue! I used one of the tree foliage images to create flower petals – and the center is from that set too! I must say it took a very long time to figure out how to arrange the silly petals, but I finally figured that out too.

Joyful Flower

I created this card for the Less is More challenge – Just One Word (challenge #47). The idea being to use only 1 word on the card.

Once I saw this stamp with the word as part of the image, I knew I wanted to use it. I decided to incorporate a Fall-to-Layout as well (ftl171).

I picked the DSP first and then looked for a flower color to compliment. I settled on Calypso – a very pretty melonish color (and I had coordinating ribbon – always a bonus!).

Um, I have the die for the flower, but cut it out by hand before I remembered *doh*

Cozy Mug

I created this card for the CAS-ual Friday challenge and I used the free digi stamp from Market Street Stamps. The challenge (cfc33) was to use Kraft and Twine.

I don’t do it often because I’m lazy (my printer is downstairs from my craft area), but I do like using digi stamps – you can size them however you want!

I really wanted the mug to to take all the focus, so the card is very simple. The sentiment is popped over the heart and the mug is popped from the card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

thanks so much

Colors: Kraft, White (PTI); Crumb ink (SU);
Other: markers (Copic); twine; circle dies (Spellbinders);

Hoppy Snapshot

I got into Copic markers after Unfrogettable retired, but I still don’t know why it took me so long to put these two favorites together! I love this little froggie – he makes me smile every time!

This is a very simple card. I wanted a Polariod look, so I used a square die to cut a window from a piece of white cardstock. I stamped my image onto light yellow cardstock and colored with green Copics. The marker didn’t blend as well as on white cardstock, but it worked well enough.
