Sunshine and Blue Birds

It is the 25th of the month and that means PTI Blog Hop! This month is an inspiration challenge. The photo is full of fun patterns in sunshine yellow with touches of aqua.

I really wanted the card to be upbeat and happy since that was how I felt looking at the inspiration.

I kept most of the card yellow (yay for Harvest Gold ink!) in lots of patterns. The ribbon had to be aqua (is there anything prettier than aqua satin ribbon?).

I futzed with the bird positions – I didn’t want them to be at the same height, so I tilted one a bit. I just felt it gave the card a bit of interest for them not to be “mirrored”.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. You certainly succeeded with the “happy feeling”. This is so pretty and I love patterns and texture of the design.

  2. Oh LOVE this, Karen! I was just commenting on another card that it’s always so much fun to see oldie but goodie sets in the hops! You made me want to get out Background Basics: Retro again soon! The sentiment and impression plate are just perfect for this card. So fun for your sunny background, and I love the blue birds. Where did our nice weather GO??? While it’s sunny now here in Avon, I am missing the 70’s and 80’s already!!
