Composed Elegance

Becky Oehlers (PTI Design Team) started a weekly challenge on her blog. It is a pretty unique challenge – she provides quite a bit of rules for each challenge, but I have always been amazed at the variety of cards created.

I really loved the inspiration piece for this week’s challenge (Compose a Card #6), so when I found myself with time on my hands tonight (ok, I was procrastinating, but we won’t tell), I had to take the challenge.

I started out by wanting to replicate the tray ceiling in the inspiration photo. I created the frame with a ruler/exacto knife. I really had no plan for the rest of the card, so I’m very happy that it finished up so nicely 🙂

  1. Absolutely stunning Karen. My jaw actually dropped when I saw your perfect re-creation of the ceiling in her inspiration photo. From the square jewels in the center panel to the threads around the button, this card deserves all THREE top spot in Becky’s challenge!

  3. Congratulations on making top spot! Such a gorgeous card! I love how you ruffled your ribbon.

  4. Congratulations on taking top spot. Your card is simply stunning. Just one question though: how did you do the ribbon? So lovely.
