Butterfly Birthday

I made this card for Becky’s latest Compose a Card challenge (#7). I deviated a bit from her photos – I tried to use yellow, but everything I came up with looked too much like cards that were already posted. So I flipped through my pattern paper and found that Lavender Moon looks really good with Spring Rain & Cream.

Yesterday I went to Ben Franklin with my PTI card swatches and found DMC thread for just about every color. So when I started working on this card I knew I would work in using the thread somehow! I started by using it to add detail to the felt butterfly. Then I added a couple stitches to the blue panel.

I cannot wait for more colors of PTI Felt. That stuff is dreamy! So thick and cuts wonderfully. I have an egg die just waiting for more felt options πŸ™‚

Happy Birthday
