Relax at the Beach

I created this card for the CAS challenge at SCS (cas62). The challenge was to create a card inspired by postcards of Mackinac Island, MI.

I’ve seen a lot of cards recently where folks have layered the scallop border punch (especially when using an owl image) and it looks really cool. I decided to try the same thing with this border punch to create a “wavy” effect.

Now if I could just figure out how to adhere my layers so they aren’t crooked!

  1. I love the beach, and this really reminds me of it. That punch works great for the waves–great idea.

  2. The border punch idea is genius, Karen–this is the first time I’ve seen the technique and now I can’t wait to see if I have that punch in my stash! šŸ˜€ Serene, soothing card, so nice.

  3. I absolutely love this card….the border punch makes it. So, is it that EK Success border punch that is the brace? I looked on-line and saw one but it had a little embossing just slightly in from the cut edge….I can’t see it on your picture…same punch? You did a fabulous job with this card, and I would really like to have that border punch. Can you help me? Thanks so much.

  4. Oh Karen, this is fabulous – what a brilliant idea with the waves – so inspirational. LOVE the colours too – LOVE IT ALL!

  5. Of course, I LOVE this one… and it’s okay – waves are not straight! šŸ™‚
