August is full of birthdays in my family. In just a few days my oldest niece will turn 21 (ack!). I made this card for her. She returns to college next week, so I’m just going to slip in a gift card to a restaurant and hope she has time to celebrate before she goes back.
To make the card, I used a sketch at PageMaps that is for a BasicGrey-Flourishes Contest. Since BG is sponsoring the contest, I used some paper by them. Unfortunately I don’t own any Flourishes yet.
I stuck pretty much right with the sketch. Since this is for a 21st birthday, I kept the colors bright. When I thought I was done the card felt a little blue heavy on the right side, so I added a couple blue lines to the sentiment panel to help balance it.
Happy Birthday
