Simple Pergamano

I had to get one more card in today (tomorrow I really must get the teacher gift cards wrapped up).

This card was created for the new Runway Inspired Challenge.

The dress reminded me of paper piercing so I tried my hand at a simple pergamano. I stamped the image using Sahara Sand ink then pierced the vellum. Using a Spellbinders die I turned the Oval Doily into a frame. The vellum is glued to the back of the frame, then I added dimensionals and backed it all with white (so that what is going on in the background didn’t interfere with the piercings).

The side panel is Damask Designs stamping with the old Lemon Tart ink onto Fine Linen card stock.

I finished it all off with rhinestone swirls. Those were a *pain* to get on. If anyone has suggestions for how you get them from the backing sheet to the project, I’d love to hear them!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

  1. Karen, although you said they were a pain the rhinestone flourishes were definitely worth the work! I love the way they frame the focal panel. Thanks so much for joining us on the first Runway Inspired Challenge!
