Butterfly Happiness

It is time for another CASology challenge. Check out the latest challenge – Foil!

Here is my take:

Butterfly Happiness | by karen @ carefree creations

I love the look of foil, but I always have a hard time getting it to work. To do this card, I used a glue technique that I learned from Jennifer McGuire. I still had to stamp and foil it twice to get the rays mostly covered. {After making my card, I found this video from Minc where I learned a couple tips that may help me in the future! AND THEN I found this video from Jennifer where I learned I could use embosed images. You may see more foiling from me soon!}

Anyway…usually when I think foil, I think elegant, but I wanted something fun. I chose some bold spring colors because it reinforced the “happiness” sentiment.

I hope you join us at CASology – and, for more inspiration, check out the other design team members:

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This is so very pretty. Love the way you highlighted your large butterfly with foiling and dimension. I’ve got to take a look at some of those technique videos, as I’ve always stayed away from foiling due to fear of the foil.
