What caught me first, in the inspiration image, was the wreath like placement of the leaves on the top and bottom plates. I started with that and went off from there.

I know I should “buy local”, but there is nothing I cringe more at than shopping at Christmas time – just too many people! I do 90% of my shopping online, so I like to leave little gift bags for those folks who deliver the packages (I can’t image what a hectic job that is at this time of year!). This is something I did last year but neglected to take a photo of the gift (at least this year I remembered to snap a photo of the panel).

For those that are interested, in the package is a lip balm, travel-size hand lotion, travel package of tissues, a couple chocolates, and a $5 gift card to Starbucks.

Today I’m playing along with the Less is More: Blue & Green challenge.

So many beautiful Christmas cards have been created for this challenge, but I just couldn’t get in the spirit. I thought about blue and green for a bit and decided “earth” would be my inspiration.

I started with watercolor paper and distress inks. Then I added a bit of text and finished up with an earth stamp.

This card is for the Freshly Made Sketches #215.

I was a little stumped with this sketch, but as I scanned my supply index, this design came to me.

The cloud die normally just cuts the top and leaves the bottom along, but I cut along the embossed lines to make a cloud bank.

Addicted to CAS is having an anniversary – and a design team call. This challenge’s code word is: Dimension.

Here is my card:

My dimension is from the flowers that are popped-up.

Since November is their anniversary month, I wanted a celebration card that was fall colored. I started by finding my pattern paper – which was a lot harder than expected considering my stash! I knew I wanted an organic pattern (i.e., not geometric) and lots of color (no large white spaces) – so that the letters would pop against it.

I’m playing along with CAS Colours & Sketches #152 (this week is a sketch challenge).

I admit, I was stumped at first! Thankfully, while perusing my digital index, I saw these half-flowers and knew they would be perfect! It is snowing here, so I wanted something bright and pretty – hence my color selection.

This card is for two challenges. The PTI Make-it-Monday: Stamp on Kraft challenge as well as the Less is More: Number theme challenge.

I used my MISTI to stamp the candles in white and then the colors. I added some stickles as flame, I think it adds a nice detail to an otherwise simple card.

What I love about the inspiration is the clean style and the pops of color and silver.

And this is my card:

Parts of the sentiment are silver embossed. The card base is dry embossed with stripes. I added a silver paint between the stripes.

I had fun piecing the bits together! I know it may be hard to see my motif at first, since it takes up the entire panel, but there is a pattern there.

This card is for the SCS-Inspiration #374 challenge which was a Christmas Pinterest board challenge, where I selected this pin and basically recreated it.

I had to use my foil again – I mean, it is a skate blade and those aren’t white! It is such an insignificant detail, but I love it!
