Today’s CAS challenge on SCS (cas70) was to have the sentiment be the focus.
As with most things I had lots of ideas but not the right supplies to pull them off. I thought a rebus would be really cute but I couldn’t come up with one I liked. Then I really wanted to do something like Erin’s Sit a Spell card (4th card down). Which got me thinking of a word block (like this) but in a cool retro font like an old circus poster.
I eventually settled on using this old background from StampinUp. Hmmm…I hate it when my imagination out paces my abilities!
Thanks for checking it out.

Great color combo–so summer-y!!
Pink and green are one of my current faves for color combinations. This worked out really well.
Ah, glad someone else shares my frustration with a card in your head being much cooler than the one you end up making!
But I do like this card that you ended up with. I like the way you highlighted “friendship” and that ribbon is adorable!
(ps-yes, I am happy I started a blog…so far! Mostly because it’s led me to find other great blogs like yours!)
I like it! I like the colors you chose and that friendship is in a different background color. And that always happens to me. I don’t buy something I’ve seen and then later want to try it when I’m designing a card. So you’re not the only one!
Hee, I can relate! But this is nice, Karen. The colors and the ribbon and the way you highlighted the word friendship–all very nice!
Pink and green β what a refreshing combination. And I love the sort of postage stamp look to this too – – intentional or not! π
I love the pink and green combo, Karen. Very cute!
cute card. i like the way you highlighted *friend* in white π
