Inspired Bird

Back in April I saw this china pattern in Pinterest. The image is of Lenox china (image source).

I actually created this card within a week of seeing the image – but since I sent the card to my secret sister, I couldn’t post it online until now.

I watercolored the bird and trimmed him out. I originally had die-cut the berries from Riding Hood card stock, but they were too vibrant/solid for the feel of the card/inspiration. So, instead, I die-cut from white and watercolored the ink directly onto the die-cuts.

I debated about embossing the card base – and I think it would have been fine plain – but I do like the added texture the embossing adds.

Thanks for taking a peek!

  1. I am SO impressed with this card! I love everything about it – the coloring job, the fact that you fussy cut the bird and the branch to add dimension to the card, and the embossing. Just all-around WOW!
