Holiday Thanks

Next week is the December InkUp stamp camp. I had two cards to create for the camp.

This first card is a holiday thank you card using Watercolor Winter. I love this stamp set and wish it was part of the big catalog so I could use it again next year.

The flower is cut-out and popped up, then finished with a few rhinestones. I used Old Olive as the base, but it seems a bit bright in the photo.

My assignment for this second card was to use heat-n-stick powder. It is hard to see in the photo, but above the mug is the steam image in glitter. Honestly, I’m not sure why StampinUp sells heat-n-stick. If I want to have a sparkly shape, I use the Iridescent Ice embossing powder. But I do use heat-n-stick for adding flock to images so I am glad I have it around.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tea for Three

This is another clean and simple card I created a couple months ago.

I’m always in awe of folks who can write blog posts. Me, I just think, well, here it is. I never know what else to say.

Anyway – I’m just thankful for your peeks at my blog!

Cameo

I’m quite fond of this card; I think because of the colors. And I’m such a sucker for cameos.

I finally used the Lace Bouquet set that after a couple months of wanting I finally broke down and bought – only to have it sit. I love it, but find the images intimidating.

Halloween Flashback

I know, I know. Not only has turkey day passed and my neighbors have Christmas decorations already up – but here I am posting a Halloween card.

This was a card for my secret sister, so I couldn’t post it when I created it, but I still wanted to share it.

I had just received the spooky music background stamp and just had to use it. I added a bit of cheesecloth wrapping and stitching. Pretty simple, but then those are my favorite cards.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Warm Thoughts

I created this card for the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge (wmsc125).

The blue banners are stamped tone on tone, as is the blush strip. I went one shade up for the accent stamping and topped it off with a rhinestone.

Critter Christmas

I’ve been wanting to make this card ever since I bought this set last year. I originally did this thinking it would be one of the mass-produced I created for my friend, but it was too much trouble for doing more than one!

Magic of Christmas

I finally finished the last card for my friend. This is the fourth design and I made 6 of each. That is why this one took so long – I had to color 6 of those bows! I think each one took at least 30 minutes. I love the card though – totally worth it!

The rest of the card is pretty simple – I didn’t even emboss the background, lol.

Sending Holiday Wishes

I was so excited when Papertrey came out with dies for this Poinsettia flower! I die cut both sizes (from Sweet Blush) and stamped the line art images with Autumn Rose ink. The flowers are layered with dimensionals.

The card base is their new Limeade Ice (I wish I could get the brightness correct for this color). It is a bit untraditional, but those are my favorite!

I used the Simple Stripes impression plate to emboss the top half of my card. To do that, I cut cardboard to be the dimensions I wanted to be embossed (in this case 5 1/2 x 3). Then I positioned the impression plate onto the card base and used my card board as a shim (instead of the full-size rubber mats).

The final touch was a bit of silver glitter pen in the flower center.

Deck the Halls

This is another card I created for my friend.

I’m really happy how this turned out. I think even though the colors are traditional and there is a lot of green – the pop of sparkly red really makes this card.

I try to keep all the card pretty flat for easy mailing, but I needed to put a bow on this! I used some silk ribbon so that it wouldn’t amount to much and I think it will still mail just fine.

Peace on Earth

Getting some Christmas cards done for a friend.

This card was inspired by Lynn’s card (1st one). I really loved the embossed sentiment panel and the holly accent. I even found a scripty sentiment in my stamps!

I didn’t have an embossed rectangle though, so I ended up stitching – and then I stitched the pattern paper panel…which led me to stitch the holly leaves. I made 6 of these cards (and I really don’t like do more than 1 or 2 of any design). I don’t think I’ll be breaking out the sewing machine again any time soon!

The sentiment panel is white – I may try to take another photo during the day to see if I can get better coloring.
