Formula Fun for the Math Teacher

by karen @ carefree creations - Formula Fun for the Math Teacher

Another end-of-year teacher card. This time for the math teacher. My kiddo took geometry this year, so I thought this Formula Fun background was perfect for the card.

I was inspired by Barb Murphy’s card. I don’t think I would have thought to use this stamp for the chalkboard technique…but love it!

Making the frame to go around the ‘chalkboard’ was harder than it should have been. As usual, I made the chalkboard before I made the frame, if I was smarter, I would have figured out what tools I had to make the frame so that my chalkboard would be the right size. No matter, I made it work! Though I am now eyeing the new My Favorite Things dies that just came out – they would have made this easy as pie!

CASE-ing for More Teacher Cards

by karen @ carefree creations - Music Teacher Thank You

For this card, I CASEd Betsy’s card (last one in her post). I loved the music notes floating on the flourishes! I simplified by making my card a one layer card. I also opted for a slightly more masculine color palette.

For this card, I CASEd both Debbie Olson’s card as well as Heather’s card.

Thanks for taking a peek!

For the English Teacher

by Karen @ carefree creations - English Teacher

OK, my favorite part of this card is the little “shine” on the apple in the shape of a heart.

I had so much fun coloring!

The card base is embossed with a text motif.

For the Music Teacher

by Karen @ carefree creations - Music Teacher

I was inspired by a card Nichole Heady did during the introduction of the Rhythm & Soul set (see it here – you’ll need to scroll down a bit). I was going to emboss white on colored paper, but honestly, I didn’t have the energy the night I made it – and it needed done then. Still, I’m quite happy with how it turned out.

I did play around with the placement of the instruments by laying out the stamps.

Thanks to the Gym Teacher

by Karen @ carefree creations - Gym Teacher

For this card, I used a Fall-to-Layout from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.

I wanted to do a reprise of a card I did a couple years ago (here), but I wanted it different. That is where the sketch came in – it was perfect!

There are 10 spots on the card and filling them was tricky. I used a font for the volleyball. I repeated a couple of the balls. And one spot was covered by the banner. Footballs should be round 😉

Oh, and in case you are wondering – the red spot is a kick ball, and the black spot is a hockey puck!

Apple for the Teacher

It is time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Check out the latest challenge, it’s a double!! #27 – colors and sketch.

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #27

And here is my take:

by Karen @ carefree creations - Apple for the Teacher

Today is the last day of school! I spent this week frantically making cards for teachers. I thought the CAS challenge sketch would be perfect!

I will say I originally stamped the apples directly onto the card base but despite drawing a grid, I didn’t like the position they ended up. Instead I pulled out some old pattern paper that, thankfully, was Sahara Sand! Also originally, I had stamped the leaves all going the same direction. I decided on round two to do them pointing out.

Banjo Playing Math Teacher

My oldest kiddo has the coolest math teacher! He has all sorts of guitars hanging on the wall at the back of his class room (including a banjo). And the best part, if the kids get done early, they can play with them!

Math is my kiddo’s favorite subject, and this teacher has really fostered their love. I think he is even the reason they are seriously considering math teacher as a goal.

by Karen @ carefree creations - Banjo Playing Math Teacher

Hard to see in the photo, but the little dots around the banjo base are colored with a gold pen. And the two light grey areas have silver glitter pen accents.

To get the math theme in there, I embossed the background with numbers.

This isn’t the fanciest of cards, but I hope it will be enjoyed.

For the Science Teacher

It is time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Check out the latest challenge -> #26 – sketch.

CAS Colours & Sketches - Challenge 26

I rotated the sketch:

by Karen @ carefree creations - Science Teacher

This was so much fun to make! This is a great sketch – very versatile! And I got to color!!

My kid’s science class this year was focused on chemistry, hence the stamp selection. Her teacher likes purple, so that is why I chose the colors for the clothes.

To make the scientist look like he was really holding the flask, I fussy-cut around the fingers and tucked the flask image just behind the fingers.
