This weekend I tackled a couple projects for my mom’s upcoming stamp camp. For my first project, my task was to use Perfect Plum and Lovely as a Tree to create a Christmas card.
I started this card by stamping the line of trees image using Perfect Plum ink. I stamped the same image on scrap paper and trimmed it along the landscape edge. I used temporary adhesive to attach my scrap-paper mask and sponged on the ink. I wanted the darkest bits to be in the center so the color fades out at the top and bottom.
I added some Dazzling Details glitter glue to the trees and ground and finished off the card with a panel mat of the Silver Glitter paper.
I do like this card, but I felt the sponging/masking was too time consuming for camp.
So, instead, I CASEd this card by Janet Yates and created my card:
Thanks for stopping by!

Karen, these are both stunning! Love the colors you used. That stamp set is such a classic. It never gets old to me. Hope you are well.
Beautiful work, Karen! Lovely as a Tree is a beautiful stamp for Christmas cards, I don’t think I’ll ever tire of seeing it. I especially love the stamping on the second card! π
These are gorgeous, Karen! Great colors, and the sponging on the first card is beautiful.
I found your web site, Karen! I really like your Christmas Plums card at the top (your Mom called you yesterday to ask how you made it for me). I’ve subscribed and will follow your clever ideas!!! -Donna from Virginia
Lovely both cards, I would be pleased with either of them!
Did you do some light sponging (blue) on the Christmas Blessings card
Nope, no sponging on that one. Just the tree image stamped repeatedly without re-inking. Now that you ask, I can see where it sorta looks like that – but I’m sure that is just my poor photo editing π
