It is time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Check out the latest challenge: #63 – sketch.
And here is my take:
I had a hard time with this sketch – but only because I couldn’t chose which stamp set to use…this is such a versatile sketch that just about anything will work!
Unfortunately I just found out a friend’s father passed away and I needed a sympathy card. I chose a floral stamp set and soft colors.
To make the crumb strip, I used one of the Apothecary Accents dies and only die cut the end. Then I used a trimmer to cut the edges straight.
I needed a bit of texture on the Crumb strip, so I embossed it. Of course the folder I chose left an un-embossed area at the top. I didn’t want to try embossing just that bit, so I used the space to add some (stamped) stitch lines.

PS…it’s great how you list all the DT on your blog…I think I will start doing that! But as I have moved my blog, please would you change the link on my name to http://www.lizyshouseofcards.blogspot.com? Thanks hun! xx
A beautiful card – love how you created the banner – fab embossing too – Jacqueline xx
I love the embossed kraft panel combines with those bright yellow flowers 🙂
Beautiful. Love the use of the Apothecary die!
Gorgeous card, Karen! I love the dimension you gave the flower, the die-cut banner end, and the embossing. The soft colors are pretty, too.
I really like everything about this card, the stamped flower, the embossing and shaping on the banner. It is such a soft and gentle card, with the colours you chose, perfect for the occasion.
