This is my other Inkup Stamp Camp card. My assignment for this card was to use two embossing folders on the same layer (but not the selective embossing technique).
This one was definitely harder for me. Since the embossings would both be on the same panel, I knew the card would be mostly one color. I decided I wanted a bright cheery card – so a birthday theme it is!
I wanted a pop of color so I picked Coastal Cabana and worked it in by die-cutting a flower to accent the sentiment. Pops of white help add contrast as well.
My order of steps was to first stamp my greeting where I wanted it. Then I embossed the two ends. Lastly, I used a stylus and scoring board to add horizontal lines between the embossing and the sentiment.
If you are wondering how I picked the embossing folders, it essentially went like this: I wanted something fun since this was a birthday card, so my first choice was decorative dots. Going with the old adage “curves love corners”, I looked for a linear folder…and just a touch of woodgrain looked more like wavy lines, a la streamers. I thought those two would make a fun pairing for a party card.
Thanks for taking a peek!
