Each year I make a bunch of cards for a friend of my mom’s (she’s in a care facility). I really don’t like mass producing, so I make 4 each of 7 designs. And since these cards are for folks who aren’t involved with handmade cards, I try to keep them very simple and not to artsy. In addition, the mailing of the cards has to be kept simple – so nothing bulky.
Over the next week I’ll share the designs for this year’s cards. After that I’ll probably disappear for a while again (not another break from work until Christmas).
Here is card 1 of 7:
This first card was CASE’d from Dawn Olchefske. I fell in love with her card when I saw it last year. I didn’t have the same stamps, but I recreated with what I had. I wish my santa image was denser to help with the balance, but I’m ok with how this turned out.
The belt buckle was created with a square of silver foil paper and just a couple slits with an exacto knife. The ribbon is satin.
Thanks for taking a peek!
