Sail Toward Your Dreams

I created this card for my Mom’s September stamp camp. My assignment was to use Open Seas to create a masculine card.

Honestly, I haven’t stamped in weeks (between school, being on the new PTA board, and some web design clients – I just haven’t had time). I was a little worried when I sat down to get this done (and since I left it to the last minute, I *had* to do it – mojo or no). I am actually really happy with how this turned out. It is simple, but still pleasing.

I used most of the stamps from the set to create the collage. Ideally the “spine” of the card would have had the twine done through it like bookbinding, but since this is for camp I didn’t feel it was worth the time involved.

The sentiment is vague enough that it could be used for a few different occasions.

So Sorry

Just like yesterday’s post, I used the layout by Lynn (here).

For this card, I wanted a more calm card (instead of yesterday’s bright colors). I started with a Crumb Cake card base (something not so dark that I could still stamp the sentiment without having to heat emboss it to show up). I used a bit Comfort Cafe DSP for the top portion.

Using the punches and DSP made this a really quick card!

I really like that this card can be used for just about any “sorry” situation.

Moroccan Feel

I really loved the layout on Lynn’s cards (here) – which were inspired by another card.

I really love this bright color combo. And I adore the border image from Summer Silhouettes. I used a stampa-ma-jig to get it stamped consecutively.

Moose Day

I created this card for my husband’s birthday last month.

For some reason moose is his favorite word lately. So that is why I chose this image.

The balloon is created using the pumpkin from a recent Paper Smooches set (a trick I learned from the awesome DT).

FYI – Birthday Quilt

It is time for another For Your Inspiration challenge. Check out the latest challenge -> FYI36.

Is this not a beautiful scene? I would love to be sitting on that hill right now! The rainbow of colors and happy feeling is where I drew my inspiration for my card.

I really wanted to use all the colors from the photo, but I didn’t want it to look like a rainbow. I had a few failed attempts at other ideas, but this one turned out wonderful (and it was so easy!).

I kept to white as my card base and accents because I didn’t want to darken the happy feeling at all.

I stamped the sentiment a little high in the frame, so to help I added a few gemstones.

Rockin’ Birthday

I created this card for my niece. I wanted something colorful and fun.

I used the harlequin stamp from Potpourri to create the floor – which turned out so much better than I thought it would – so happy!

The jukebox is stamped, colored, cut-out, and popped-up.

I love the added texture the striped impression plates – makes it look like paneling (which is what I was going for). The serendipitous part is that I was trying to get the stripes all the way down to the floor, but I gauged wrong and ended up with baseboard – and I love that extra touch! Now I just hope I can do it again the next time, lol!

Birthday Ride

This is the final card I made while at my mom’s house.

This time I wanted to have a bright sunny watercolored scene. I pulled out the hostess set – Summer Afternoon and went at it.

I mounted the watercolored panel on Daffodil yellow to help bring out the sunny background.

The sentiment is normally two lines, but I wanted all on one – so some simple masking and I got it done.

3 Cheers

This is another card I made at my mom’s. This is the new Happy Hour set (after playing with it, I decided it would be a good one to have – sometimes I just love a solid image).

My kiddo doesn’t think “3 cheers” is a good birthday sentiment, but I do!

All the glasses and accessories are hand-cut. For the final touch, I added a bit of Dazzling Details glitter glue on the strawberry, margarita glass rim, and umbrella.

In My Thoughts

I was at my mom’s house just before StampinUp Convention. Mom handed me a panel of Pretty in Pink and the Reason to Smile set and said make a card for swapping. Hmmm.

I ended up pulling the Pink Pirouette DSP from the pack – um mostly because I forgot that Pretty in Pink was in the same pack – so I just went with the first pink I found, lol.

I kept the design simple (we didn’t have a lot of time to get it done). I popped the flower head on dimensionals. The vanilla panel is also popped up – which provides a nice little shadow (which translates into dimension).

Simply Everything

While I was away from home, I did have access to my mom’s stamps – and I needed a birthday card.

I pulled out the Everything Eleanor set because I loved the images. I did have to hand-cut the flower and label, but it didn’t take long.

I kept the design very simple, but I really like the colors.
