Warm Thoughts

I created this card for the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge (wmsc125).

The blue banners are stamped tone on tone, as is the blush strip. I went one shade up for the accent stamping and topped it off with a rhinestone.

Critter Christmas

I’ve been wanting to make this card ever since I bought this set last year. I originally did this thinking it would be one of the mass-produced I created for my friend, but it was too much trouble for doing more than one!

Magic of Christmas

I finally finished the last card for my friend. This is the fourth design and I made 6 of each. That is why this one took so long – I had to color 6 of those bows! I think each one took at least 30 minutes. I love the card though – totally worth it!

The rest of the card is pretty simple – I didn’t even emboss the background, lol.

Sending Holiday Wishes

I was so excited when Papertrey came out with dies for this Poinsettia flower! I die cut both sizes (from Sweet Blush) and stamped the line art images with Autumn Rose ink. The flowers are layered with dimensionals.

The card base is their new Limeade Ice (I wish I could get the brightness correct for this color). It is a bit untraditional, but those are my favorite!

I used the Simple Stripes impression plate to emboss the top half of my card. To do that, I cut cardboard to be the dimensions I wanted to be embossed (in this case 5 1/2 x 3). Then I positioned the impression plate onto the card base and used my card board as a shim (instead of the full-size rubber mats).

The final touch was a bit of silver glitter pen in the flower center.

Deck the Halls

This is another card I created for my friend.

I’m really happy how this turned out. I think even though the colors are traditional and there is a lot of green – the pop of sparkly red really makes this card.

I try to keep all the card pretty flat for easy mailing, but I needed to put a bow on this! I used some silk ribbon so that it wouldn’t amount to much and I think it will still mail just fine.

Peace on Earth

Getting some Christmas cards done for a friend.

This card was inspired by Lynn’s card (1st one). I really loved the embossed sentiment panel and the holly accent. I even found a scripty sentiment in my stamps!

I didn’t have an embossed rectangle though, so I ended up stitching – and then I stitched the pattern paper panel…which led me to stitch the holly leaves. I made 6 of these cards (and I really don’t like do more than 1 or 2 of any design). I don’t think I’ll be breaking out the sewing machine again any time soon!

The sentiment panel is white – I may try to take another photo during the day to see if I can get better coloring.

Autumn Sketch

My sister-in-law’s birthday is next week and I needed to make a card. I almost always start with a sketch – and this one I used a retro sketch (rs36). Then I selected my pattern paper – an old one from Stampin’Up. Then I selected my flower image (by Papertrey Ink).

The flower is stamped 3 times on More Mustard card stock and then colored using Copics (YR65, E08, E19). I only colored the parts that would be showing – so the bottom layer only has the outer most petals colored. As a final touch I added some gold Spica glitter pen to the top two flower layers.

This card was created using the Retro Sketch challenge (rs36).

Christmas Whimsy

This is my second project for InkUp. My task was to use Stylin’ Snowfolk to make a whimsical style card.

This stamp set certainly makes “whimsy” easy! I went with brighter colors that I felt worked with the whimsy style.

I stamped the snowman body, including face and buttons, onto white paper and cut him out. The arms are stamped onto the Bashful Blue panel.

The hills are hand cut.

Christmas Plums

This weekend I tackled a couple projects for my mom’s upcoming stamp camp. For my first project, my task was to use Perfect Plum and Lovely as a Tree to create a Christmas card.

I started this card by stamping the line of trees image using Perfect Plum ink. I stamped the same image on scrap paper and trimmed it along the landscape edge. I used temporary adhesive to attach my scrap-paper mask and sponged on the ink. I wanted the darkest bits to be in the center so the color fades out at the top and bottom.

I added some Dazzling Details glitter glue to the trees and ground and finished off the card with a panel mat of the Silver Glitter paper.

I do like this card, but I felt the sponging/masking was too time consuming for camp.

So, instead, I CASEd this card by Janet Yates and created my card:

Design Team Call

Hello 🙂 I know I have been gone for quite a long time. I’ve been doing a LOT of volunteering at my children’s schools. Things are definitely quieting down for me and I am so ready to stamp again. As a matter of fact, I have posts scheduled for the rest of the week! I know I will never be a consistent poster, but I hope to have something a few times each week.

For those looking to join a design team, For Your Inspiration is looking to add a few more members to their team.

I’ve been a member of the FYI team since March and I have loved it! The challenge is an inspiration challenge that occurs twice a month.

The new challenge season will begin in January – I can’t wait!
