And here is my take:
I saw a graphic online where it used fox as a pun and I saved the idea to use later – which is now! These colors really lent themselves to a nature setting and a fox.
This is really pushing my definition of CAS, but I tried the scene with a blue card stock base as well as a white base and neither worked for me. I love plaid so it might just be that once I stamped the plaid I was a bit biased against anything else.
The sub-sentiment is printed from my computer.

A Little About the Challenge: This weekly challenge is posted on Tuesday, and alternates between color and sketch (if there is a 5th week in the month you get the double dose of color & sketch).

And here is my take:
Hoooboy! Double challenges are doubly challenging! When I finally came up with this idea, I was so happy that it turned out well.
Unfortunately the gears don’t really work. I’m not sure if the paper is just not strong enough or if I attached them too tightly.

Work Hard
Stamps: Words to Live By – Work (Papertrey Ink – PTI); Ink: Pistachio Pudding (Stampin’Up – SU); Paper: White (PTI); Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding (SU); Other: Gears die (Spellbinders); Words to Live By – Work die, Limitless Layers – Oval die, Polka Dot impression plate (PTI); brads, 1/2 inch circle punch (stash);
My other card was dark, so I thought I’d go light and fluffy for this one.
I had the HARDEST time coloring this unicorn (I think I need more pale color markers?) – this is my third iteration and I’m still not satisfied, but, ya know, done is done.
I wanted to add a final touch, but couldn’t think of anything to do and have the card stay CAS.

And here is my take:
I really wasn’t sure what I was going to do for this sketch, but as I was flipping through my supply index, I saw the jar and the idea came together.
The jar outline is clear embossed on black card stock and then cut out using the coordinating die. The words are white embossed on the jar die cut.
I used watercolors to do the rainbow (I was going to use Distress inks, but I remembered that those would blend and I didn’t want that).

You Color My World
Stamps: Crystal Clear, Word Salad (Paper Smooches – PS): Ink: Versamark (Tsukineko); Paper: Watercolor (Ranger); Black (Simon Says Stamp); Other: watercolors (Loew); Clear embossing powder (Filigree) White embossing powder (Hero Arts); Crystal Clear die (PS);
The moon was die cut from shimmer paper and the clouds are die cut from vellum. Here is a close up of that:
I have a hard time adhering vellum, but for this one, I just smeared white glue anywhere the cloud sat over the moon. Those places fully adhered and didn’t show through.
Ideally, I would have used a halloween sentiment, but I don’t have one the right size for this layout (and I wanted all the elements grouped together).

And here is my take:
As with much of the northern hemisphere, it has been HOT lately. I decided to use an iconic summer image with these cool colors!
Stamping the sprinkles and sentiment in the same color helps link everything together and create a flow to the card.

What’s the Scoop?
Stamps: You’re the Sweetest (My Favorite Things); Ink: Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana (Stampin’Up); Fine Linen, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink – PTI); Paper: White (PTI);
I originally created this card for the latest CC&S challenge (flipped horizontally), but I wasn’t sure it was close enough, so I made a different one to post for the challenge.
I love this card, so I definitely wanted to post it.
To make the butterfly, I blended blue & purple distress ink onto regular white paper then added a few water drops. I die cut the butterfly and stamped the layer image.
The splatter in the background is 3 different colors of Twinkling H2Os. I liked that it adds just a touch of shimmer to the card (especially as I wanted an ethereal feel).
I had some free time yesterday and decided to play along with Papertrey’s Make it Monday: Shadow Backgrounds.
The concept is to make the images in the background grey or the same color as the cardstock and the main image is full of color. There were two image techniques I noticed – using outline and solid stamps together or larger and smaller images together. I made cards using the two image techniques.
My outline and solid card is also a clean and simple card:
It is cas only in that there limited layers.
I started by stamping the outline balloon image on the background and then added white clouds to help connect everything and make a flow.
My large and small image card is much less cas:
This image is the only one I have in my stash where I have a large and small version. I wish I had a slightly lighter grey, but between the bold colors and the plaid stripes, I feel like the focus is where it belongs.
This was a fun technique!
Thanks for taking a peek!
the sky is the limit
Stamps: Up Up Away (Papertrey Ink – PTI);; Ink: Pool (Hero Arts); Fresh Snow, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Bright Buttercup, Enchanted Evening (PTI); Paper: Spring Rain, White (PTI); Other: Up Up Away die, Double Ended Banner die (PTI);
I decided to pull out a roller coaster set to make this week’s ZOOM card. I wasn’t sure at first how I would keep this clean and simple, but after a day or two of the idea perculatin’ I got this layout.
The coaster base is stamped in a very light grey so that it wouldn’t be overwhelming in the design. I added clouds as a last touch to help balance the coaster cars and the bush.
