How the Heifer Are You?

I wish I could take credit for this pun, but I cannot. But as soon as I heard it I knew I wanted to use it!

To do the sentiment, I pieced together words from other sentiments and used alphabet sets to create “heifer”. I fussy cut the speech bubble and the cow out and popped them up over the gingham.

Doodle style stamps seemed like a great way to go with this Squiggle cue! I used the a spot image to “color” the butterfly. I positioned the cluster of elements one-third of the way from the top.

There is nothing like the thrill of a new book! Thank goodness for the library!! I had a few “traditional” ideas for thrill, but I really couldn’t pass on books.

Copper Butterfly

I have some old copper embossing powder and decided I would use that for this challenge. (Since I couldn’t come up with a useable police pun….)

This butterfly set is old, but I still love it. I knew there wouldn’t be much to the card if I only embossed the image & sentiment. As I was looking through my index, I realized I could cut/impress the clouds and give some white-on-white texture. I added a touch of blue sponging just to highlight the butterfly even more.

My computer crashed last week. I’m hobbling along on a spare (yes, I am VERY thankful we have a spare). I don’t have my normal applications. To edit my photo I used a really awesome free online photo editor…but I don’t know how to use it, lol. Please forgive the lack of color adjustment. New image….

This card took me forever! OK, not this card….I had a really ambitious interactive card that I wanted to do, but it required me to be an engineer and I am NOT an engineer. Seriously, it sat on my desk for weeks while I tried this and that. I finally gave up a few days ago and stamped this. I do like it, but I feel like a failure anyway, lol!

My hubby has been learning guitar, so I’ll give this to him. While he isn’t very active while playing, I was going with the “rock” part.

Parenting is Hard!

There are quite a few ways I could have gone with this challenge cue. I ended up doing parent(ing). While this is a card for my kid – it could easily be for me! I have a kid with severe anxiety and I really have no idea if I’m helping or hurting the situation. If anyone has experience with anxiety – I’d love to hear from you!! (carefree dot creations at gmail dot com)

I used a lunchbox notes stamp set which has some really encouraging sentiments in it. Knowing I wanted to use a few of them and stack them up, I thought an ombre/gradient color scheme would work best. Each line is a different color. I listed them in order in the supply list below.

To add a focal point to the card, I selected one sentiment to white emboss on a color card stock.
