This is a lovely, and versatile, color scheme. I wanted to do something other than flowers, so I went through my index and found these raspberries. I did a google search to see what raspberry leaves look like. I didn’t have anything in my stash that looked right, but these were close and I liked the dotted veins.

I made this card a couple weekends ago, but it sat on my desk waiting for that something extra it needed. I wanted some enamel dots in varying sizes, but I don’t have any. I finally made do with some pearls that I colored with Copics (gotta use those markers for something, lol).

The first thing I saw in this sketch was an awning! I went in many directions just with that, but settled on a sweet theme.

The image is stamped with distress antique linen then colored with Copics.

The sprinkles are an outline image…I wanted solid. So I got out some really old glitter and made them solid. And the sparkles give just a touch of pizzazz.

I love this color combo! I admit I wasn’t sure what I was going to stamp with it…but still, it is awesome.

Eventually I decided to create some plaid and that led me to a baby card (I know that may be a bit non sequitur to some…but it my brain tends to move in weird directions, lol).

The stamp set is made to showcase buttons. I don’t use buttons much any more as they are too bulky. I thought the set had some circles that could be used, but nope. Thankfully I had a button die. The stamp is supposed to have 2 tiny circles and 1 medium. The smallest button die only fit two. I guess this would be a good card for twins. I don’t need a baby card, so this will probably go in my give away box.

I’m breaking out an oldie from Stampin’Up. I am pretty much dedicated to photopolymer stamps, but I do have some old rubber ones that I just can’t let go of. Spring Garden is one of them; I just love the painted look of the images.

The color scheme was just so very springy to me that I had to go with flowers. The day I made this card it actually snowed (just a dusting on the grass) so stamping with spring colors was helpful!

With Sympathy

Sadly, I do need a sympathy card. This one is going through the mail, so I kept it a simple one-layer card.

The solid layer of the flower is stamped, 2nd generation, with Riding Hood Red and the overlay is Raspberry Ripple.

I embossed a partial frame. Getting those corners right is so hard (so mine are not)!

The card base is white, but, with the photo taken next to the yellow background, it seems cream colored…I’m thinking that would have been good. Next time.

I find it funny how much my card tastes differ from my decorating tastes. I love stamping with gingham, but I do NOT want it in my house, lol. I do love strawberries though. Since my last stamping session was highly unsatisfying, this card makes me very happy (even though the solid images didn’t line up well with the outline – it is hard to see such a light grey through an inked image!).

There is a lot of stamping going on, so to (try to) keep the card CAS, I eliminated a layer. I don’t miss it.

I had thought about going over the vines with green, but now that it is done, I’m glad I didn’t.

So I had this awesome idea in my head – a cool geometric kinda thing (a la Ardyth)…but, I have the worst time creating with geometric designs myself (I love looking at those designs and have a tendency to buy geometric stamps). I scrapped a few cards before I decided to go in a totally different direction!
