Bells & Boughs

I created quite a few Christmas cards for my mom’s StampinUp business. These two I’m posting today are both done with Bells & Boughs (so happy this set made it to the big catalog!).

This first card, while it may seem similar to other cards I’ve posted, this one is actually the first one I created – and it is also my favorite Christmas card I’ve created this year!

The greenery on this card was created with the pines from Lovely as a Tree. The bells are watercolored, cut out, and popped-up.

This second card needed to be a quick and easy card for stamp camp.

I started by stamping the Sahara panel with the holly image. I sponged around the edge of the panel to help pop it from the card base. The rest of the card should be fairly obvious – a little embossing, some ribbon, and a die cut.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Christmas Bells

I really love this color scheme and layout for bells!

Using the PaperTrey Ink dies made this a very easy card to pull together. Also, instead of using a wheel or other “border” type set to create the music background, I pulled out an old StampinUp background – just one quick inking and the background was done!

This is the last of my mailable Christmas cards – I hope you enjoyed them and maybe even got some inspiration!

Relaxing Atmosphere

This week’s Clean & Simple Challenge on SCS is to Chill Out. Instead of doing a winter themed card (because it is winter!), I went with the relaxing theme.

I really love the soft blue and green combo for relaxing, so that is where I started. My favorite way to relax is to read, so I stamped up a little scene to create my relaxing atmosphere.

Oh and I have to say, I used Soft Stone ribbon. You can’t tell this is a shade of grey. White was too stark on this card, but the Stone color really helped keep the warm and cozy feel.

Gift Card Gift

I picked up a gift card for my kiddo’s teacher. I wanted an interactive way to give the card. My kid helped me come up with this idea and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

My kiddo chose the colors – because purple is the teacher’s favorite color and yellow looks good with purple 🙂

You can’t see it in the photo, but the card base is embossed with PTI’s musical impression plate (again, the teacher likes to sing).

This was actually pretty simple to pull off.

The striped paper is popped up with foam tape (placed to just allow the gift card in – so that the top aligns as it should). The gift top is a folded piece of card stock with the gift card adhered to the inside back with repositionable tape.

Hopefully the second photo shows how the ribbon works. One piece is attached to the back of the present bottom, and the other piece is attached to the back of the present top.

I finished off the inside of the card with a little row of presents (because you know, kids don’t write a whole lot, lol).

Christmas Lights

I have been wanting a Christmas light strand set. I had one on my wish list for a couple years, but never bought it – and I’m so glad I didn’t. I love this set by PaperTrey.

I have lots of ideas for this set, but for this card, I kept it very simple.

Simple Pergamano

I had to get one more card in today (tomorrow I really must get the teacher gift cards wrapped up).

This card was created for the new Runway Inspired Challenge.

The dress reminded me of paper piercing so I tried my hand at a simple pergamano. I stamped the image using Sahara Sand ink then pierced the vellum. Using a Spellbinders die I turned the Oval Doily into a frame. The vellum is glued to the back of the frame, then I added dimensionals and backed it all with white (so that what is going on in the background didn’t interfere with the piercings).

The side panel is Damask Designs stamping with the old Lemon Tart ink onto Fine Linen card stock.

I finished it all off with rhinestone swirls. Those were a *pain* to get on. If anyone has suggestions for how you get them from the backing sheet to the project, I’d love to hear them!

City Sunset

I’m getting my card in just under the wire. I haven’t had a lot of time to stamp, but I *love* the inspiration photo over at For Your Inspiration. I had so many ideas, but only time to make one card.

I’ve decided it is time to make an ink index though – I usually chose my colors by picking out paper, but so often they just don’t match well enough. I ended up changing all my ink choices, lol.

Anyway, this is an old background from StampinUp. I inked sections with different shades of purple. There is a splash of turquoise in the inspiration photo and I pulled that into my project with the ribbon. I also added rhinestones to the bottom row of flowers (though you can’t see them in my photo) – that is to mimic the lights in the buildings.

Sleigh Ride

While I was at mom’s house this summer, I was able to pick-up some old retired rubber she was selling.

I love the little scene in this set!

I wanted a pop of color, which I accomplished with the bit of holly. That bit of holly also allowed me to include ribbon on my card without adding a knot or bow – so the card stayed flat and mailable.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Chilly Spark

I’m interrupting my week of mailable Christmas cards so I can post this card…hope you don’t mind 🙂

I recently bought a bunch of Paper Smooches stamps – I love the cute designs! As I was checking out their website I found their challenge website: Paper Smooches Sparks.

The current inspiration challenge is photo of a frame arrangement. The blue and white color scheme made me think “cold”, and that is what I used as my inspiration to create my card.

One of my favorite Waltzing Mouse sets is Festive Foliage because I love holly and these have big bold images. The set is so easy to use – and it pairs up so well with the Compliments of the Season sentiment set.
